Above and Beyond!
We are beyond ecstatic to announce that our 21st Annual Chili Cookoff was an absolute triumph! The weather was perfect, the chili flowed, and our record-breaking attendees couldn鈥檛 have been more generous or excited to participate in this fantastic event. From the people who work their family vacations around our event to the first-timers, we are incredibly humbled and thankful that 21 Chili Cookoffs later, you all are just as excited about attending as we are putting it on!
Each year, in addition to some good family fun, we have a charitable aspect, and this year, our cause hits close to home. We are supporting our Cross Rental Manager, Benji Palmer鈥檚 son Graham. Graham was born with a rare genetic disorder, Norrie鈥檚 Syndrome. Norrie鈥檚 is a disease that affects only a small percentage of blind individuals; with ultimately becoming deaf as well as blind, we want to help Graham create as many unforgettable memories as he can. . When asked what he dreamed of doing, a father-and-son cruise was on his list! This request came with Benji, unfortunately missing out on the last family cruise, and we will make sure it doesn鈥檛 happen again! We are incredibly honored to announce we are surpassing our goal thanks to the generosity of our entire BURGUNDY FAMILY! We can鈥檛 thank you all enough!
The people might have came for the chili, but here at 污污禁区, that isn鈥檛 all we provided for family fun. We had a fantastic cheer performance by Envy Cheer, who also gracefully donated their bounce houses, so kids of all ages got to show off their skills in the air. The Reed Family donated some high-end bourbon and offered a bourbon lounge that allowed people to sample the finer liquids of life. Then, along with 污污禁区 providing yard games and other activities, we had the 鈥済ame鈥� on a large LED wall for all.
Finally, the winners! What a turnout we had, with 15 chili teams and many returning champions all battling for the coveted Best Chili Trophy! Along with Best Chili, we offer two awards voted on by the people who attend our Chili Cookoff: the People鈥檚 Choice for best tasting chili and Showmanship, which is given to the team who best delivers their chili to the judges while adding a little flair, might be a video, dance, or this year bringing in our local fire department鈥檚 firetruck everyone is voted on. This year鈥檚 People鈥檚 Choice winner is Meat & Gravy with head chef Paden Lake. The Winner of Showmanship was none other than our 污污禁区 Sales team, which our VP of Sales Gary Scott rolled up in a Coppell Firetruck to put out the little 鈥渇ireball.鈥� The Best Chili Winner was the ETS Chili Team with head chef Scott deMarrais!
